This is Single Parent Plan

Welcome to Single Parent Plan, where real-life experience meets practical solutions for single parents.

Twenty-four years ago, my journey as a single parent began. I was married then, but he was never a co-parent or a good father. After leaving my marriage in 2008, I found myself raising three children—ages 11, 5, and 2—entirely on my own. Like many single parents, I wasn’t prepared for the challenges ahead, but I knew my children deserved better.

I’ve struggled in ways that only other single parents truly understand: emotionally, financially, mentally, and physically. There were nights spent sleeping on the couch in living situations I wanted out of, days wondering how to stretch the budget just a little further, and countless moments questioning if I was doing enough.

But I discovered that I survived 100% of those difficult days.

Over the years, I’ve built a life I’m proud of—from owning my own home to seeing one child graduate college, another attend college, and my youngest will start his senior year of high school this fall. The journey hasn’t been easy, but it has taught me invaluable lessons about resilience, resourcefulness, and finding joy even in challenging circumstances.

A smiling woman with short blonde hair and subtle purple highlights takes a close-up selfie outdoors. She has bright green eyes, pink lipstick, and wears silver hoop earrings, a black top, and a gray cardigan. A white strap crosses her shoulder, and the background features green grass, trees, and a white fence under a clear sky.

They say it takes a village to raise a child, but when you’re doing it alone, that village can be hard to find. I created the Single Parent Plan because I believe a village can exist in many forms—from online communities to simple systems that make daily life more manageable.

My mission is simple: to share what I’ve learned through 20+ years of single parenting to help you:

  • Save time with proven systems and routines
  • Reduce stress through practical organization strategies
  • Manage finances with realistic budgeting approaches
  • Find the balance between parenting, work, and self-care
  • Build confidence in your parenting journey

This isn’t about perfect parenting—it’s about practical solutions that work in the real world when you’re tired, overwhelmed, and doing your best with limited resources.
